Detailed information concerning the issuing guidelines for the award
The basis for offsetting was an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) in accordance with ISO 14040 and 14044 in compliance with the applicable PCR (Product Category Rules), which was prepared by WAP Sustainability Consulting, LLC on behalf of Garrett Leather. A detailed review of the LCA by Fokus Zukunft has not been carried out.

In the LCA Report, the product “Mira” corresponds to the product described here “Cielo”
The term “cradle-to-grave” refers to the consideration of a product’s greenhouse gas emissions “from the cradle to the grave”, i.e. all life cycle phases are included, from the extraction of raw materials to the disposal of the product. This accounting approach should always be chosen for a PCF that is a final product or an intermediate product for which the subsequent function in use is known.
