Scope 1

includes direct greenhouse gas emissions resulting from a company’s own activities:

Scope 2

includes indirect greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the generation of energy purchased and used by a company:

Scope 3

includes all emissions that are caused by activities outside the direct control of the company but occur along its entire value chain:

reduction measures

The company is aware that greenhouse gas emissions must be avoided and reduced as far as possible. Offsetting by means of carbon credits shall only be perceived as an additional – if albeit vital – measure to achieve the 1.5°C target set out in the Paris Climate Agreement. The offsetting share must be gradually reduced in this context.

Offsetting

The company has acquired carbon credits to offset the greenhouse gas emissions as assessed.
Offsetting period

Number of credits (1 credit = 1t CO₂e)

A total of 1793 certificates were retired. These are broken down as follows: 595 certificates for the climate neutrality of the company and 380 certificates for the climate neutrality of the product "film labels and name labels". In the previous year, there was a surplus of 157 certificates from the Brazilian water project. This will be used for climate neutrality in 2024 and 2025.

Further commitment

We strive to ensure that all our products are made from the most sustainable materials possible. Almost all of our paper-based products are made from FSC ® certified paper or have been awarded the Blue Angel. Almost all of our cardboard product packaging has a recycled content of 90% to 100%. As there are not yet any sustainable materials available for our plastic-based products such as film and name labels, e.g. films made from post-consumer waste, we have decided to make them climate-neutral for the sake of the environment.

Social responsibility is an important topic for us. For over 10 years, work groups from Oberland Werkstätten have been integrated into production at our production site in Oberlaindern and support us in various operational activities on a daily basis.

Of course, e-mobility is promoted both in the company’s internal vehicle fleet and with e-charging stations for employees. There is also the environmentally friendly version of the Job Bike to help employees commute to work without emissions.

A new photovoltaic system installed in 2024 covers a third of our electricity requirements at the Oberlaindern production and administration site.

And last but not least, four bee colonies share the company premises with us and supply us with their own honey.
